I watched the Shawshank Redemption tonight while working out and I couldn't help but apply what I heard in the feelings I have felt about my friend Clint.
I started hearing Clint's voice in my head, "get busy living or get busy dying." Live life.
The line below struck me with so much power today:
From Shawshank: "Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies." - I felt Clint repeating that to me in my head over and over.
At the end of Shawshank, Morgan Freeman's character Red decides to take the journey to find and be with his friend.
I now relate what Red says at the end of Shawshank to how I feel about Clint.
I find I am at the start of a long journey whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it to the other side. I hope I can see my friend and shake his hand. I hope that the after life is as white as it is in my dreams. I hope.
Clint would say don't ever let hope die. "No good thing ever dies."
I miss my friend but I hope to see him again.
