Post from David and Kathy Latyon

Greetings to all -

Prior to beginning, I want to thank you all again for your continued support for Kathy and I and especially for your prayers in behalf of Clint and his family. Believe me, we have seen miracles in his behalf and seen the power of prayer.

Today, Clint finished round #3 of his Chemo, and will be home with Kelly & the girls by 5:00 P.M. today. We have been extremely impressed with all the medical support of the Huntsman Cancer Hospital, however everyone heals better when they are home in their own environment and bed.

I had previously mentioned to all of you that Clint would have the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) by the end of May or 1st of June. However, the Oncologist Doctors and the BMT Harvest Doctors at the University of Utah (U of U) wanted to do one more round of Chemo prior to the procedure. So, having completed that, he will be at home and for the next two weeks in / out status at Huntsman for follow-up then two weeks of resting (blood tests, etc.) prior to going back to the U of U for the BMT procedure.

The BMT will be done at the U of U because they have a special air filtering system to ensure germs are not in the area. For the first three weeks, a sterile environment is critical because of Graft vs Host Disease (not accepting the new bone marrow). If that occurs, they try it again. But, we are not thinking of that, because his donor Casey is a perfect 100% sibling match.

We are thinking that the BMT should begin around the 15 - 20th of June. This summer will be pretty intense for the Layton family and their supporters as we all await the count down to ensure the BMT has successfully taken.

Again, our very best to all of you for your continued support, it means a lot to both of us and especially to Clint.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Know that we will do anything we can for any of you.

Love,
David and Kathy
