Birthday Bro!

Happy Birthday again Clint. Still miss you and think of you daily. July 7th is always a great memory during the summer right after the 4th going to parades, fireworks, food, friends, fun...

The AC went out in our house on the 4th and I was a a basket case but then I am reminded of you. These things are all material and don't matter it is the connection we make with each other that is priceless. I needed to learn patience and to just live in the moment with the people I love. I had slumber party with my son in the basement since we didn't have AC and they couldn't come out until the 5th. He cherished it. I saw it and felt it. I had to let go of pride, ego worry, etc and live in the moment. The memory is permanent now. Thank you for even reminding me even when you are not physically here. 

As you always said to me it is about creating memories because tomorrow isn't promised.

Over the Top - Meet me halfway

 Clint and I used to rent Over the Top (a cheesy 80s movie) a lot. Recently, I found this movie again. I have great memories watching this with my buddy.  I remember a quote the main character says - "The world meets nobody halfway. When you want something, you gotta take it." I think this an interesting statement. This is true the world won't meet you halfway however your friends and family will or even more than halfway. This is why friends and family are so important and I think 2020 helped slow the world down enough to show what is important 

Anyways, it has been 11 years since the death of my friend but there isn't a day that goes by where I am so very thankful for the time he was here. He has met me halfway and more on many occasions. 

Rest in eternal bliss my friend.

10 years tho...

I watched you die 10 years ago. Probably the worst thing I have had to see so far. I remember one of the last things you said was no more tears. But I don't know how to stop them they will continue however I think you meant don't give up and to keep pushing. You wanted all of us to keep pushing. Clint, if there ever was someone who was good in this world it was you. I know life sometimes doesn't seem fair but you showed me there is no normal life, its just life. You make it what you make it.

Another Birthday without you

So much has changed in the world since you have been gone. Birthdays are about celebrating milestones. You would have been 41. Your kids are growing up so fast. A part of you is still here with them. They are happy and love life. You made me promise I would always stay close. You never needed to make me promise It's just what we do.
We are thinking of you on your birthday. You are never forgotten.
Memories are all still fresh. Laughing so hard as we would call each other up at the JCPenney catalog call center. Saying turn to page 32 what in the hell is that. Way before online shopping was popular.
Anyhoo brother tomorrow is your day and always will be. Eating BBQ chicken pizza and donuts for desert for you.
Thank you for what you did for me while you were here. Unable to ever pay that back but so grateful for it.
